I began my freelance career during the summer of 2009, the nadir of the credit crunch. The best businesses are built during a recession, they say. Life was a bit slow to begin with. Aptly, David Lester also asked me to write some chapters for his latest book How They Started in Tough Times.
My main work came through Growing Business magazine where previously I had been the deputy editor. One of the highlights was covering a conference featuring Daniel Goleman and Malcolm Gladwell.
Here’s a piece I wrote about their thoughts on leadership:
I also did some work for Microcosm Games which was launching The One Ring on Facebook.
These few brights spots were all that lit up a dark year for my career. All in all, I wasn’t sad to see the end of 2009 and to a much better year ahead.
